end stage

Ny husband was diagnosed 1 year ago with stage 4 colon cancer. He is going through his second round of chemo the first failed. he has lost 90 lbs. and is very ill. He seems to drift further away daily.I need someone to explain to me what the signs are of end stage how do you know if that is what is happening? We are going to the doctor every week for treatment but I can't ask these questions at the clinic we are always together, I do not want him to think I am giving up on him but for my own piece of mind I need to know. If anyone can help me I will be so grateful. Yhans so much.
