RE: R CHOP

I was DX in February 2007 with Follicular Lymphoma, grade 2. I started R-CHOP the same month and just had my last round (6) for now. During the treatments, I did not have too many side effects but some of them were; slight nausea, some fatigue and the mouth sores that you mentioned. That is caused from the Chemo destroying the mucus lining in the mouth and throat. For me it started clearing up around day 10 of each cycle. As for the joint pain, that came shortly after the Nuelasta shot. After 2 cycles with the full dosage, the Dr. cut it in half and the joint pain subsided. Again, for me that problem only lasted about a week. Hope all goes well with you and this helps~Bob

DX May 2006 - 7 cycles R Chop, 24 cylcles of radiation. Clinical remission since 12/18/06.During R CHOP Had all the symptoms you listed and more. Best idea is to talk to your oncologist or even better, the staff that administers your chemo. They have seen it all and know various methods of dealing with each problem. For your mouth, you can get a prescription for the pharmacist to mix you a mouthwash to help numb the soreness. Also, Biotene toothpaste and mouthwash, normally used for dry mouth are also good as they contain no alcohol and are soothing and pleasant to the taste. You are in my prayers - hang in there. It does get better!!!

RE: R CHOP

Hi all,got in here when searching for R-Chop.Hope that by now, everything is alright to you all.My dad (67 y.o.) was diagnosed with stage 4 Large B cell lymphoma, he went through 6 rounds of Rchop and it responsed very well to the chemo. The recent PET/CT scan shows that there is nothing found and is considered cured. To prevent it from relapsing, the Dr. suggested him to go for a Autologus stem cell transplant. We went to seek a 2nd opinion and the latters recommend him to go for another 4 to 6 rounds of R only. cos given his age, he might not be able to take the process of the transplant.Does any of you went through either post-chemo treatment?May I asked what should we expect for the 2 diff treatments? Thanks.
