HiI too have the hand and foot side affects, it is so painful. I have not come up with a good help as of yet. I have gone through this about 3 times. Just nice to hear from someone else, who knows what this is.Has your Husbands Doctor, said if he will continue to take this or will there be a week off after so many on?Usually the painful part of this side affect only lasts less than a week. Take CareDeets

for the mouth ulcer, salt water is said to be effective. this was recomemded to my dad by his doctor when he was on chemo. i cant tell you whether it works or not as my dad did not get any ulcers so therefore did not use salt water, but you might want to try it.

For mouth sores the best remedy would be Salt/Soda water which consists of 1 liter of water with 1 tbs baking soda and 1/2 tbs. salt. Swish and spit out, do at least twice daily. For the hand and feet sores the pharmacy in which my husband gets his Nexavar is through the actual drug company and they have said that the best cream for the sores is called "Gojo Hand Medic" and is actually something car mechanics use routinely since they are in contact with harsh chemicals. Take care, Aimee

But until now my husband is sticking on with the 800mg daily. Have you reduced the dosage?take care

Hi all,Just wanted to share my boyfriends exp. w/ nexavar. He had the hand & foot, body rash and mouth sores. We used udderly smooth (found it at CVS) for the hands and feet it helped with the burning, but after he stopped the meds. it took about a month and a half for all of the skin to stop peeling off of the bottoms of his feet. He used "magic mouthwash" for the mouth sores. His onc. prescribed it for him. Hope this helps.Stay Strong,Cindy

For the redness of the face my husband experienced we used a gentle a Aveeno Baby Wash, he also used it for his hair, for the soreness in the mouth the Oncologist gave him a mouthwash containing Novicane which I guess numbed his mouth so he was more comfortable, for the sores on the bottom of his feet he wore a thick white sock all cotton, hard to find all cotton but found them in a store that sells Orthopedic shoes and cushioned his sneakers with inner pads. The sneakers were a thick wedge and the insides were very cushioned. Hope this helps. I remember the oncologist saying these signs were good, it meant the drug was working. Bernadette
