He has developed hand & foot syndrome: redness, burning sensation, calluses. He also has unlers on the tongue.  It's painful. Has anybody experience the same things? How to deal with them? Just nice to hear from someone else, who knows what this is.Has your Husbands Doctor, said if he will continue to take this or will there be a week off after so many on?Usually the painful part of this side affect only lasts less than a week. Take CareDeets    Deets Thu, 28 Jun 2007 00:00:00 GMT for the mouth ulcer, salt water is said to be effective. this was recomemded to my dad by his doctor when he was on chemo. i cant tell you whether it works or not as my dad did not get any ulcers so therefore did not use salt water, but you might want to try it. My husband rinses everyday with soda water, but the ulcer still develops. maybe we have to reduce the dosage.
