Change in cancer survivor behavior

My husband was diagnosed with stage IV stomach cancer two years ago. He was just diagnosed with recurrence with mets to his liver. His chemo response is good; he is feeling better. Lately, he has been with his friends 2-3 times a week at a local bar and it seems as though he is pulling away from me now that he is better. These same men never called or came to see him when he was ill. Am I a reminder of his illness? Anyone experience this?
