Low White Blood Cell Count & Fever

Hi everyone,My dad just had his first round of chemo with AIM (Adriamycin, Ifosfamide and Mensa) a week ago for stage 4 angiosarcoma. In a routine 1-week follow up today, they found that he had a 103 degree fever. and that his white blood cell count was at 200.They are giving him Cefepime on the assumption he has an infection. I was wondering if anyone had any idea how I can help him boost his white blood cell count, or anything important I should be asking his Dr? He had a Neulasta injection a week ago after the chemo ended but the Dr. said we have to wait another week for the next one. Thanks,Lauren

I am so sorry to hear about what your Dad is going through. Adriamiacin is a tough chemo. I had four rounds of it. The Neulasta shot will help quite a bit. He needs to be careful when being in public. I know that is tough to do. If they are giving him antibiotics then he should be better soon. God bless you and your Dad!
