This was a second primary and not mets. I recently had a F/U PET that showed a new focus of activity with SUV of 7.2. My Onc thinks it is probably just physiologic since I had had a colonoscopy 2 weeks earlier. So I am gathering from this he thinks this is a false positive. First, I wish you all the best. Secondly I just had a PET scan showng a lymp node in my right paratracheal region with a 9.9 value. My lung specialist told me not to worry. She said it was a "moderate" number. It could be caused from a previous surgery,(I just had both ovaries removed on 4/24),an infection,(I got a urinary infection the 1 day I was hospitalized and I'm on my 2nd round of antibiotics), or lymphoma. She then made me an appointment with a general surgeon to get his take on things.He is not an oncologist. Personally I think it's to see if he can biopsy it without opening my chest. I have a message posted wanting to know what the numbers mean but noone has replied yet. Maybe someone will read our posts and reply.
