I just had a Leep done at 8am its now 11:19

I just have to let everyone know. When I was told that I needed to have a LEEP done I was scared out of my mind. The last scolp that I had done my Dr had told me everything looked great he did not even do a biopsy just a pap!. He expected it to come back normal b/c my cervix looked that good. After being in shock for a day I called him back to talk to him for a while. I felt better when he told me that he was just as shocked, but b/c I had not had children yet (im 26) you can not see past the opening of the cervix. I was diagnosed with HPV in the fall of 2005. I encouage everyone to talk to your md on the phone to explain everything to you. My OB is amazing if you do not feel comfterble talking to him get another md or get more advice!! I could not have done this if it was not for my faith in him.My MD scheduled my leep on friday the 13th of July at 8am. On his normal day out of the office but his OR day.I read a lot online but this message board is what I found to be the most informative. This is why im posting my message after my leep today. It is now 11:23am after my LEEP. I went in today scared and nervous. I asked my MD more questions that I had like will I have to have more LEEPs done he said its very unlikely to have more then one unless you do not get all of the "bad" cells in the first one. My Fiance went with me, by the way Im a big baby. I had to take off all of my jewlery b/c of the electrical current. They placed a big blue patch on my right thigh so that I would be grounded and not get shocked. He then placed a Large speculum in larger then normal, it did not hurt at all. It was uncomfterble but it did not hurt it was actualy my biggest complaint of the whole thing. My fiance held my hand the whole time. They gave me a local anastetic (lidocaine) which I did not even feel going in!!!! im afraid of needles!!! Then they give you (Epineferin) which normaly make your heart speed up but mine was already pounding. It did not affect me at all, they then placed a tube on the speculum to suck out the smoke and stuff. I could feel some pressure when he was in there but that was it, I felt no pain when they took the sample of curvix. He said that he felt confident that he had gotten everything. After it was all said and done I looked at the piece of curvix that they removed and it was larger then I thought it would be but he assured me that it was important to make sure they get everything to test. He then cauterized me so that I would not bleed as much. This is when you get a smell but its not as bad as I thought or that everyone else explained to me.To everyone that is scared it was not that bad, im in no pain now a little bit of dull cramps not even as bad as I have when i get my period. Im not bleeding just a little bit of brownish blood like after haveing a biopsy. I will let you know how i feel in a few days and I will let you know my results next thursday when I got back to the MD.
