cottage cheese and flaxseed oil dose information

Hello everyone - I hope everyone's babies are doing ok at lease for now.I am wondering if anyone has the proper dose of the cottage cheese/flaxseed oil mix for an approximately 16 pound dog (a Bichon to be exact).I have found lots of information about this combination in general but never an amount to give this size dog.Also...is it better to feed my dog this mixture once or twice a day? I need all the help I can get because right now I am just guessing at 1 Tablespoon oil and 1/2 cup cottage cheese (mixed together) over the course of the day and I have no idea if this is good or not!

Oh my gosh I just wrote the longest response and lost it..Okay here I go again..Algae based fish oil is best to promote fighting cancer..go to Walmart and get EXPECTA oil gel tablets. OUr CAncer specialist recommends it. DAISY gets 400 mg (2 gel tabs) each morning and at night. I also give her 1/4 cottage cheese with 1 tablespoon of algae based flax oil by "flora" she is 60 lbs. We elected no peroxicam and no chemo. DAISY is doing very well for the past 9 months.Diet consists of: chicken breast or turkey breast with spinach rather than brocolli (gives her gas) INNOVA wet dog fod...it's the best ! She has her appetite and lives for her walks..Purified bottled water..wow! Yes, every day.my dogs will always drink bottled water..regular water has flouride.we are doing something right and perhaps the cancer has moved and she has less blockage! AMAZING..Hope I helped..but do some research onDr. Budwig who saved many lives with the cottage cheese and flax oil..but algae based is best s many fish oils contain Mercury. This is the wave of the future to prevent cancer I think in my heart.Keep me posted on your doggies..Sandi in San Diego

We too have decided against the peroxicam at this point - mostly due to the fact that it seems to make our "Sugar" pant like she has just run a 15 mile race!.Since I posted my vet has recommended 1 Tablespoon of Flaxseed oil and 4 Tablespoons of Cottage Cheese - this seems odd because it is the same dose you are giving your much larger "Daisy" - I guess somehow it all equals out in the end. I did not know about the other oil tabs from Walmart and will be looking into this ASAP. Hope your Daisy continues doing well.

Are you still using flaxseed oit and cottage cheese for your dog? I though about trying it. Do you use tablets or liquid? My dog is 20 lbs and I think maybe 1 tablespoon is too much. Do you have to mix it with cottage cheese or in their food OK?On 8/13/2007 GeriNap wrote: On 8/11/2007 Doodlebug wrote:Oh my gosh I just wrote the longest response and lost it..Okay here I go again..Algae based fish oil is best to promote fighting cancer..go to Walmart and get EXPECTA oil gel tablets. This is the wave of the future to prevent cancer I think in my heart.Keep me posted on your doggies..Sandi in San Diego Are Thanks so much for responding.
Hello -Yes I am still giving my dog the flaxseed oil and cottage cheese. I mix 1 tablespoon High lingon Flaxseed oil (Barleens is a brand that makes it and it is found in the refrigerator case of the store) with 3-4 Tablespoons of lowfat organic cottage cheese. Both the "special oil and the cottage cheese" are available in health food stores. My dog is about 17 lbs. so this should be good for your dog too. It took our Sugar a couple of days befoe she would actually eat this concoction -I started out mixing it with her food but found she didn't want to eat it that way so I now serve it to her on a flat plate as though it were a side order to the rest of the food I give her in the same flat plate. This recipe is very specific and you should not substitute capsules or other types of flaxssed oil or give it with regular cottage cheese.Frankly, I thought the whole thing sounded a little absurd but a year later I have to say I swear by this method. If you can't find the high lingon flaxseed oil in a local store it is available online. My little girl is holding her own and is as playfull as ever although I am getting concerned because for the last 2 weeks she has refused to eat the cottage cheese combo. Good luck - Please give this a try. I started out by saying that at least trying this could not hurt my dog and if nothing else I have now bought myself a year with her. Good luck!

I've just read online about flaxseed oil and cottage cheese. So I'm new at this too. I'm trying and hoping that this may work for my dog who may have either bladder or prostate cancer. I don't have my hopes real high or why wouldn't everyone use this.On 4/17/2008 inomylove wrote:Hi my name is Roe,,,,and just wondering what is this about cottage cheese for cancer patients.Roe M.

On 4/17/2008 inomylove wrote:Hi my name is Roe,,,,and just wondering what is this about cottage cheese for cancer patients.Roe M.Hi Roe - as you may have read I have used this method for about a year now and have had great sucess as have others. To get more info on this method review past posts and google Dr. Budwig. Her's is a very interesting story. Believe me when I say I didn't hold out much hope for this method, but as I have posted, my dog has made it about a year longer than I thought she would. She went from losing weight and hiding under the couch to having a happy playful quality of life. Like I told myself when I began - what could I possibly lose by trying this. It certainly can't harm the dog and comparitively speaking it doesn't cost all that much. Just be sure to follow the exact ingredients: High Lingon Flaxseed oil (found in the refrigerator case of most better health food stores (or online - Manufacturer Name: Barleens) and lowfat organic cottage cheese ( also can be found in healthfood stores).I wish you all the luck in the world - I hope my Sugar goes on as happy as she is today but somehow I know this will not work forever.I am happy to have had the extra time I have had with her as a result of this concoction.

My little sheltie has spindel cell sarcoma. I would like to know if you feed your dog 1/4 cup of cottage cheese and 1 tbsp of flaxseed oil 2 times daily. Also, I didn't see Expecta Oil gel capsules at walmart or algae free flaxseed oil. Where else can you get these products? Thank you
