CT Scan of Lung Result

I received the results of the follow up CT Scan of my lungs after they found a nodule on my left lung on an abdominal CT scan last week. It shows two nodules approx. 7-8mm in the left lung and another in the right lung. As they are small yet, the recommendation is to wait six months and do another CT scan. My family Dr. was also my younger sister's Dr. who died at the age of 47 from liver and kidney failure. I asked him today if it was true that she also had lung cancer (told to me by my sister) and he confirmed that she did but the liver is why she died so quickly. This does not make me feel as confident as I did yesterday when I knew there was only the one small 7mm nodule in the left lung. I am going to look into natural ways to try and keep the nodules from getting bigger and to try and stop any more from appearing. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all for this supportive forum. God bless all of you.ally

Hi NancyThanks for replying so quickly to my post. My doctor says that since the nodules are new and only 7-8mm in size that the normal thing is to wait six months and compare the scans for any changes. I can logically understand that but the emotional side says that since cancer got my grandparents, my mom and dad, my uncle, sister and two aunts so far, I am at greater risk of it. How large was yours before they did the biopsy? That seems to be the deciding factor along with they are new. They did not show up on the CT Scan in 2004. Only the emphysema did. Thanks so much for your replys. I am glad that you are not afraid to be a bit more aggressive with your Drs. It is an inpsiration for me. Ally

Ally I hope you didn't wait. I think you should have a CT guided needle biopsy for sure. I can't imagine waiting. Did you see an Oncologist or just a regular Dr.? I had a needle biopsy and didn't feel a thing, so don't letit scare you. The only uncomfortable thing was to lie still on a fairlyfirm surface. The Dr. doing it tells you what to do and it's better to getit done, than to worry and maybe let the cancer grow. Please let us knowwhat happened or happens.JT
