SKEETER'S TUMOR

Yesterday, Friday, Aug 10, I learned that Skeeter has a bladder tumor preventing him form passing urine. He had been straining for almost a week with what I thought was a bowel. He had been having "accidents" in the house which was not like him. He is a 14 year old Springer Spaniel. I've had him since he was 10 weeks old. I took him to the vet, where he is now. They put a catheter and were able to empty his bladder. He is currently on an IV, an antibotic and Piroxicam.I won't know till Monday if he will be able to pass urine on his own. Those of you that have gone through this, what is his outlook.I don't know if God answers prayers about dogs, but I am praying.Any advise of comments you can give will be appreciated

It is just now beginning to get the better of her and she is having greater and greater difficulty urinating. She sees an oncologist who has said that very often the actual of act of inserting the catheter will be enough to dislodge or move the tumor so that the dog can then urinate on their own. We'll be trying that if her urinating continues to be difficult.I can't say enough about piroxicam--I am 100% sure it is the reason that my Annie is still here today.Good luck to you.Annie's human, Marty
