nexavar

My Uncle has been diagnosed with Liver Cancer Stage IV. Last week he was on Yttrium-90 radioactive therapy. The doctor prescribed him Nexavar, and told him to take it straight after meal. I have read on Nexavar website that you should take it on empty stomach. Can anyone reply, how do you take Nexavar? And anyone who has done Yttrium therapy can give me some information, does it work?Does anyone have information on how or where we could buy Nexavar with a good price? We live in Indonesia, and our insurance will not cover it, I have tried REACH, but they only help people who live in United States. I heard in China is less expensive, anyone knew about this?

Hi tika, I'm sorry to hear about your uncle. My father also has liver cancer and it has spread to his lungs. He was on Nexavar and his doctor told him to not eat anything 1 hour before eating Nexavar or he should eat Nexavar 2 hours after eating. So, Nexavar should be taken on an empty stomach for a better effect. I'm not sure if this is different for every patient, but my dad was told to do so. I'm actually from Indonesia also, and I'm just wondering where did you get the Nexavar from and for how much if I may know? My dad got his from NUH in Singapore, but since a couple of weeks ago he had changed from Nexavar to Sutent. We don't know yet if Sutent will work on him, but we're praying about it. I hope your uncle and Nexavar can work well together. :)
