On 8/14/2007 Cookiemouse wrote:Can anyone recommend a physician who is into alternative medicine...My mom is fighting stage iv colon cancer and has been through 6 rounds of chemo...she's tired, but doesn't want to give up...preferably in NY....there is so much information...the conventional medical professionals are against alternative treatments and vice versa...it's so frustrating. Please help!!!Hi There Cookiemouse,I agree, alternative medicine and finding an alternative doctor can be maddening. I have used and studied alternatives for years and even with the wealth of information in my head when cancer hit my Mother it was a whole new ball game to concentrate on curing it "after the fact" verses all the efforts we can make to prevent it in the first place. I am not in a good place for alternative doctor recommendations because we have had our fair share of dissappointments. My Mother has no income right now and we are having to help her get through this. After spending several hundred dollars on alternative doctors and one alternative cancer facility we ruefully realized that many alternative doctors will try to lead patients into thinking they have to pay upwards of $800.00 a month just for their overpriced supplements. Not including the beneficial BUT way over priced tests that many can have done independently for a fraction of the cost through independent labs. Natural supplements can indeed heal many serious health afflictions but it does not mean we have to sacrafice our lives savings to obtain them. We learned the hard way years ago when dealing with vaccine induced autism that alternatives can heal what they continue to say is incurable. Our son is no longer autistic. But the sad reality is that after losing thousands to mainstream to have a child who was only worse to then turning to alternatives and losing thousands more to yes...have a healed child- but then risk losing our home...it was a bitter pill to swallow after getting a serious education in alternatives to see the huge profits both forms of medicine are raking it in based upon our desperation to heal our loved ones. In several posts here I have strongly recommended Bill Henderson's book called "Cure Your Cancer-Guide to the Internet" for a reason. It is a well written book and it gives more information in todays internet age to have instant access to the information in the book as we are reading about different choices in beating cancer. Do a search on the internet for his site it's called beating cancer gently. His book also offers a full list of alternative doctors all over the world. They are out there, I would caution you to learn a LOT about supplements, and healing choices, and real actual costs before saying yes to all they want you to buy. In the end our son was healed using less then $150.00 worth of supplements a month and we were paying almost triple that and going broke fast. In spite of detoxing, and supplementation, this healing could not have been obtain without serious diet changes and total house and yard clean up as well. It is a dream of mine to see all doctors in "mainstream and alternative" get back to caring more about helping patients heal verses how much they can profit off them. Often the stress of the medical bills alone can greatly contribute to more health damages. To me this is inexcusable when they are supposed to first do no harm. Hope that helps. God Bless, Pamela
