As far as a vaccine goes, they have created one in Germany, and are starting clinical trials on one here in the US from what I understand. You need to have a clear CAT scan (indicating patient is in remission) in order to start the vaccine. I read last night that there is a triple drug treatment that was tried on 25 women and ALL 25 went onto complete remission. Drugs used were Carboplatin, Taxol, and Gemzar. My docs told me that this will be my next step if the treatment I am on does not work and if they can reverse my allergy to the Carboplatin. There is not control mechanism to prevent all cancers as each cancer is so different. There are studies going on for a test called OVACHECK that will be able to detect ovarian cancer at a very early stage where it can be curable. I was involved in the study but the funding was removed. FDA would not approve because it was only 99% accurate and they wanted 100% accurate. Their reasoning was if a woman fell into that 1% false positive she would need an unnecessary laproscopy. I know I would be thrilled to wake up and hear BENIGN.I truly believe that a great help is to live your life to the fullest. Be happy and surround yourself with a lot of love and faith. I try to live like I do not have cancer (within my new limits of course). When I was dignosed I was given a 20% chance of living 3 years at most. Well it is over 3 years and yes I am on my 3rd regimen of chemo, but I am living just fine!!! I go out and do most of the things I always did and ENJOY my life. I just ell myself that "it is what it is" and crying and worrying is not going to change the situation, but being happy and positive just might. Sorry to go on and on, but I hope maybe some of this info may help.Diane T

Diane T;Thank you for your reply. What establishment or Medical hospital in Germany has a vaccine for Ovarian Cancer? Do you know which Medical Hosptial in US is running a clinical trial for a vaccine for Ovarian cancer? Tom

HI Tom -I don't know where you go for the vaccine in Germany, but you can find it by searching on the web. "Vaccine for Ovarian Cancer in Germany". I did speak to a woman who went through the process. She had to go to Germany for the vaccine, then she sees a Dr. in NYC for follow-up. But her husband did tell me that it ran about $50,000 to go thru this. (Of course insurance does not cover at all), then it costs thousands for the follow-up. I did not take info because it was no good for me (not in remission, and I don't have the $$$). YOu should also try looking on the net for all the clinical trials. I will try looking myself and if I find it I will let you know. Good luck to you.Diane T.

Diane;I could not find the Hosptial in Germany that has a Vaccine for Ovarian Cancer. Is there anyway you can find out? Have you heard of Issel? I wonder if there treatment is Legitimate? My Mom has one tumor in her Lymph Node and 3 very small tumors on Liver. I am trying to deal with someone at Garynull.com who has treated people that have been terminal. Also go to www.drhoffman.com ( all in lower case), send them an email they can help or make suggestions. I understand the budwig diet, Gingerol, Tumeric and pure Cranberry Juice ( like 27%); are all great for killing cancer. Also Fucodian is supposed to help as well. I often wonder if cancer is a gene related (In which case a gene is been turned off ) or the immune system to failing? Have a great weekendTom

regarding a vaccine for ov car , this is one of them: http://www.cancercompass.com/cancer-news/1,12900,00.htm?c=10 :5:1:2you need to be in remission, though, to participate to this trial, so I hope you can do. I was looking forward to get my mom on this but there was persistance and it was not possible to follow this option, right now we are exploring the options for a second line of chemo. Anyone has a good suggestion for this?

Oops, forgot to mark getting a response to my email, so, again, it has also been my experience that I did not have the energy when I did mostly raw foods. I am being treated by a chinese herbalist, who is also an MD, and following a metabolic type diet. I am experiencing a reduction in my symptoms/signs.
