Canine tcc- made request to site admins. for our own message board

I asked the administrators of Cancer Compass to set up a separate message board for at least canine cancer in general, and better yet separate boards for separate types of canine cancers. If they will do this, those of us with dogs with tcc can talk about it without stepping on the toes of any human sufferers, as we have been scolded for doing in recent weeks. If any of the other users here with dogs with tcc would like to back me up by requesting this as well, we will have more weight in getting the site admins. to provide us with what we ask. Send them an email via this link: http://www.cancercompass.com/contact-us.htm

That would be me, and yes, that is a great idea. While I am quite sympathetic to the illness and loss of a pet, it is just something that cannot go hand in hand with a human life.Best to you and your pet.Beth

Dear Sam's Mom,Yes, I do have to say that sounds like a great idea if the site administration would do this, however I must say I have been coming to this terrific site since April of 2006 and this was the first negative encounter that was received. (that I can remember). I have to side with Kacee's Mom that we are here to give support and strengh to ALL and that does include Humans and Canines. And once again in response to others that were offended, who are we to determine the varying degrees of a loss.?? To most people who love deeply -- a loss is a loss is a loss. And just maybe their "pet" as it were, is/was the only important aspect of their life. It is NOT irrelevant. Just a thought!! I will back up your proposed plan so that none of us who come to this website needs to be upset with the other. One never knows when and if we may need this site in the future. Thanks for your helpDebbie

I'm sorry that I happened to be the first to say anything, but cannot imagine that I am the first to feel that way.I did receive an e-mail from someone stating that she was forwarding it on for consideration.Someday, GOD forbid, you have a family member get this dreadful diagnosis, maybe you will have a clearer sense of what this made me feel, but I truly hope you never do.Beth

RE: Canine tcc- made request to site admins. for our own message board

There is actually a thread that started 2/4/05 that has over 500 posts - all for canine tcc. I think what we did was just reply to a specific message instead of "posting a new message" or "discuss" - In that way we kept the string going. About a year ago the site changed its format with more options and that is when all the other posts started popping up. Give it a try by just responding to a message and lets see if we can keep the thread going. As an update, Kacee is still with us. Its been over 2 years since her diagnosis. She was orginally given 6 months. Let her (and Ryle who just passed on after over 2 years with this disease) be an inspiration to not give up. Karen

Thank you Sams Mom, but as it appears Kaycees Mom wants to make a battle out of this.Do what you may, when it's your MOTHER dying, you might learn a little about compassion.I do feel as strongly as you do about this.Beth

I suggest that we stop responding to this thread, period. I stated in the first thread that I was trying to get a separate board established, and I did get a response that the CC folks will consider that. Even once that is established, there is nothing to prevent anyone who wishes to from sharing what they like on any of the boards, but again, there is no need for debate now at our level on whether a new canine discussion board will exist or not. That is out of our hands. Thank you to all who have mentioned that they backed up my request.

Njtwinmom !!!! I have lost many family members to Cancer. It is a dreadful disease. My dog now has cancer and I am just as broken up about it as I was with human family members. You are a heartless POS. How DARE you slam on people and minimize their relationships with their dogs. Dogs ARE part of the family (you said god forbid one of our family members gets it and that THEN we would understand you!). Well, I have lost family members including my beloved Grandmother to Cancer and now my soul mate (yes a four-legged one) has bladder cancer and has been fighting it since November, 2006. Guess what! I STILL consider my Dog's battle serious and am NOT offended that this site has a mixture of postings for dogs and humans. I think that you are a narrow minded crap stirrer who should be kicked off this site. I hope that others treat you with the same compassion that you have doled out here. I can only hope for you the best that you give.As for your Mom? I do wish her the very best. Hopefully she will beat this thing and you won't have to be such a resentful nasty person. My prayers will be with her for a cure and with you for a cure for whatever is going on inside of your head which is definately NOT GOOD.People on this site can do whatever they want to do. Personally, I wouldn't try to accommodate this idiot by trying to get another site set up. It is OUR right to do this too. If it offends you - bug off!
