small bumb under tounge

hey guys, im 18, and have used smokless tobacco for about 5 months. I have a small red bumb, right on the vein underneath the tounge. I have only had the bump for about 3 weeks, it is painless and has not incresed in size, and has none of the symptoms of oral cancer. I also have needed a root canal on my number 18 tooth for a while now. Im just wondering if it is an infection from a mixture of the root canal and the tobacco, or just a random bumb? thanks!
