CancerCompass message board discussion started by charlkyl on 8/22/2007 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,15528,0.htm Sat, 05 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sat, 05 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ My 77 year old dad was diagnosed with gallbladder cancer in early July of this year.  It has already spread throughout the abdomen.  As a nurse, I know all about cancer in general but do not know anything about the daily problems.  I am away from my parents and only get information from my siblings.  Main problem is how to get Dad to eat.  He is losing weight and says he is not  hungry, denies nausea or vomiting.  Mom is pushing Ensure at him all day long which he drinks most of it.  Any other suggestions on stimulating appetite would be appreciated.Charlotte K. charlkyl Wed, 22 Aug 2007 00:00:00 GMT Try nasogastric feeding as soon as possible.Isosource is better than Ensure.
