Internal Bleeding due to Tumor

My father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melenamo earlier this summer. At the time of the diagnosis he had internal bleeding as a result of the tumor. He under went three Chemo treatments and then once again found that he was experiencing interanal bleeding as a result of one or several tumors in the area of his intestines. He was given 4 units of blood on the weekend, but it appears that his blood level has stabalized over the past week. Is this normal? Has any one else dealt with this. The doctors are suggesting that with the number of tumors that surgury may not be feasible. My parents are not giving us a whole lot fo information so it is hard to figure out what to expect. Confused, worried and looking for information

Hi Utilk, Have you found MPIP.org ? It's great site and it been around a long time..It's dedicated strictly to Melanoma.....And as far as your question goes (I'm a retired hospice nurse) yes, unfortunatly this is somewhat normal if he has multiple tumors...Respectfully,JudithOn 9/6/2007 UtilK wrote:My father was diagnosed with Stage 4 Melenamo earlier this summer.
