How reliable are the blood tests we take

Last week I went to my oncologist for my semi annual exam. As usual, for the last five years, (yes I have almost reached the five year mark) she said all my numbers were good and everything looked fine. I asked her about taking something after the five years on tomoxifin and she said because my tumor was so small and there was no lymph node involvement and a few other things she said she would not recommend that I take anything after my tomoxifin. I said all that to say, this week I have noticed a slight red tint in my urine. I read on the internet that it could be kidney cancer or it could be some other thing. If my doctor just told me everything was ok, should I still go get my urine tested, or wait and see it it continues.

I hope that you have already consulted with your oncologist or family doctor regarding this. Definitely have more blood/urine tests done--if your current oncologist won't help, seek a second opinion. It's amazing how aggressively/quickly cancers can attack one's body.I hope that this turns out to be something benign.Best Wishes,~Leslie
