Faith

Hello everyone. In reading these posts I have noticed a good many that refer to having faith in God, prayer, giving it over to God, having a strong faith, and the like.I am happy to read those. I am respectful of everyone's choices and beliefs, and I know that not everyone believes in God or is Christian. However, I would like to go on record here as saying that there have been so many instances in my life when I have been completely at a loss as to know what to do. I have "given it to God," and have never been left adrift.I do not write this in an attempt to urge anyone else to do anything different. I simply want to speak out for my own personal faith.I just received a telephone call from my neighbor across the street. She and her husband are on their way to see her father, who is 87, in a nursing home and is dying. Transfusions are not helping his massive internal bleeding.Anyhow, she called to ask me to pray. Now, that set me back. I am honored that she would think I am such a prayer warrior that she would enlist me on her father's behalf. And so, what gives you strength, whether it be God or whatever, lean on that or Him. Lean heavily. The burdens we face are so large, and for me I have found that only He can take them.Thank you for keeping this a place where each one of us can tell his/her story and sprinkle it with how our faith mixes with our day-to-day realities.Sometimes it is our families who are our strength, sometimes our friends, sometimes doctors, sometimes a complete stranger. I wish for each of you fighting this battle a courage that has its origins in, well, we might not even know. But it is courage we need.Bless you each on your journey. As I read your stories I feel I am coming to know you.Maggie
