RE: post mastectomy pain syndrome

Hello,It's been 9 months since my double-mastectomy and sentinel lymph node biopsy. II suffer from excruciating burning/stabbing pain in the surgery area unless I take pain medication. I take 60 mg MS Contin every 8 hours. I also take 15 mg morphine every 2 hours for "breakthrough" pain, although I actually have constant pain and feel like I have rubber bands tightly wound around my chest. My family doctor referred me to a Neurologist this week who prescribed 300mg once a day for 1 week, then 300mg 2x/day for 1 week, then 300mg 3x/day for???I also am receiving Manual Lymphatic Therapy (also known as Lymphatic Drainage Massage). I have found this to help with the pain as well. (I was diagnosed with Lymphedema two weeks ago.)jIf you need more information or have questions, please don't hesitate to contact me.I wish you and your mother all the best,~Leslie (By the way, I am 5'6", 105 lbs. if that helps with the dosing information I provided above.)
