My dad had melanoma

This is the first time I have wrote anything here. I have looked at the board plenty of times. My dad was diagnosed with melanoma in 2005. He went to MD Anderson in Houston Tx. He did all the treatments they could give him. He stayed for a week at a time over there for treatment. Then he started interferon. He took as much as his body would allow. It went from his lungs to his liver. The last week he was alive he started having seizures and he looked like he had a stroke. We now know that it was the cancer on the brain that was causing all this. He stopped all his treatment on June 4 2007 and he passed away on July 11, 2007. He went through alot and was brave up till the end. He started on Hospice around June 14th and they were wonderful. Please don't give up on your loved one. They know what they are fighting .... I wish my dad was still here but not suffering the way that he was. Thanks for listening. Guess I needed to get this off my chest... Tana

Hi. I am so sorry for your loss. It sounds like he put up a good fight. My Dad has melanoma and he has it in his brain (since July). He is doing all the treatments but I feel that I don't know what the future holds for him. I am not giving up on him and I hope my Dad continues to fight the way your dad did. I wish you peace and comfort!
