86 Year Old Grandmother

My 86 year old grandmother was recently diagnoised with Uterine Cancer. We have recieved conflicting reports about surgery. Her OB/Gyn believes that because of her age she should not have surgery. Now bear in mind other than being hard of hearing and having bad eye sight she is in good health. Her family doctors feels that she should have the surgery. Does anyone have an opinion regarding her age and surgery.

A member of our congregation was just diagnosed with uterine cancer. She is 91. She is going in for surgery next week. What exactly would this entail?Also...would she get radiation and or chemo? When and how would she know? After the surgery? Would they then find out how extensive the cancer is? That is what she told me. I have breast cancer and understand the procedures for that, but not for this.If anyone has any information..please advise me. thanks
