Sutent & Lymph Nodes

Ok, I need some answers & support. My husband has been on Sutent since Sept 06' . He had a wonderful response to the 50mg (60% reduction as of Dec) . Well, his Dr's got a little ahead of themselves and reduced his dosage down to 12.5 mg which we weren't sure was a good idea but "they are the professionals". The reason the dosage was adjusted in the first place was that his side effects were so bad almost intolerable. Well, needless to say the tumor increased in size back to approx the original size. Here's the question: Recently my husbands right Lymph node in the collar bone area has increased in size. From what I understand this can be a cause of either one extreme or the other-New side effect from Sutent OR he has stopped responding to the meds and is developing new tumors. Can anyone offer advice or personal info to help us cope w/ this news?? He has a appointment on Mon to have a full body CT done but his last one 4months ago was the one that showed the increased tumor size from the reduction of dosage.. Has anyone else had enlarged Lymph nodes as a side effect of Sutent..Please keep us in your thoughts and Prayers, as I always do w/ all of you.Thank You Tara

RE: Sutent & Lymph Nodes

Hi my name is Johna My husband had his kidney removed 2005 and it returne din his lymph nodes in his abb and neck he also has lump near base of neck it is a infected lymph node by infected I mean cancerous. My husband has took sutent torisel and is now on nexavar. we hope the nexavar is working because we have no idea what would be next. Lymph nodes can swell for many of reasons so dont jump to conclusions before his scan .I know the Dr told him that they can bleed and get larger because my husbands blows up really big sometimes.Just pray for God to give you peace I know how nerve racking going for all these scans are It feels like when I walk into that hospital all the blood is draining out of my body and my whole body shakes , but then I ask God to hold my hand and I ask him to let all negative words fall to the ground because no matter what the doctors say they are not God only God knows whats going to happen. I pray God is with your family through all this guiding you and holding your hands. May God Bless You Love Johna
