myelofibrosis

Hi there, my mother was diagnosed about two years ago with myelofibrosis. Since then it seems that is has been one thing after another. My mom has diarea all the time and now has diabetes can anyone tell me if this is related and if you know of anyone with these symtoms. Also I have read that this disease is caused by benzene I know that this is in bleach therefore I was wondering if anyone that has this used alot of bleach to clean with. I can't think of anything else that could have caused this as my mom was a bleach user for many years. I hope this reaches the right message board.

Hi, sorry to hear about your mother my friend. My father had myelofibrosis for about 6 years. he just passed away on 9/16/2007 and I miss him very much. About your question about bleach. I know my father was around gasaoline because he was always in the garage and he also used cleaning chemicals like bleach and others to clean on his job. I do think there is a connection with these chemicals . my father never smoked, did not drink he was healthy he loved to work, but when he got this disease he could not do anything from this monster disease. Its probally from the chemical exposure he was around. I wish you and your mom luck and please take care of your mom because its a bad disease and they need all the support they can get.
