Thyroid Lymphoma?

Has anyone had this? I know the question is simple but I just wanted to know before I explain my situation. It is very rare so I am not sure if anyone has had experience with this. Thanks.

This was three years ago, she was given three months. She is still with us today. she did her chemo and rad. She even went back to work. So keep your chin up, and keep praying. and keep asking your doctor questions. God bless you and yours Joyce

RE: Thyroid Lymphoma?

Hi -I was just diagnosed with non-hodgkins lymphoma, but it is localized at my thyroid, which I believe makes it Thyroid Lymphoma. However, treatment for Thyroid Cancer and Thyroid Lymphoma are two separate things, from what I've been able to understand. I've heard of someone, but only one, who merely had her thyroid removed, along with the offensive lymphoma spot, and has been fine. I have read of MANY having the generally agreed-upon treatment of chemo/radiation. I am chosing to have the chemo and radiation treatments, but certainly wish I could have someone sit down and have a full disclosure conversation about what thyroid lymphoma really is and what the pros and cons of systemic (chemo) vs. surgical (take it out!) treatments are. I don't know who that person would be. I think when you start asking lots of questions, the docs get scared and think you will refuse all treatment, or will just take herbs and hope for the best! I think you are your own best advocate and should read and research as much as you need to be happy with your chosen course of treatment. GOOD LUCK TO YOU! And let me know what you find!
