Side Effects for Chemo and Radiation

After being diagnosed with Nasalpharyngeal cancer and being told I would not live to see my 19th birthday more than 20+ years ago. I can honestly say "prayer changes things". I suffer from some of the side effects of the chemo and radiation, but I can live with it. I have constant ring in the ears. I've lost all my teeth from the radiation. And can you believe it, I finally started gaining weight. I am still cancer free after 23 years. As a matter of fact my last follow up appointment my doctor said my nasal looks heathier than those who has never had nasal cancer. "Faith is the substance of things hoped for, and the evidence of things not seen". Hang in there!

Thank you for sharing your story. My 30 year old niece has been suffering with a very aggressive cancer and is going back on chemo. We hope she can withstand it. I have been looking into alt/comp treamtments as well. She is not an advocate of these now especially since her docs tell her she must do chemo again. Her body is extremely weak as she is recovering from surgery. Our family has been so faithful as well as so many others have been praying for her for 2 years. It is so hard to understand why prayers have not been answered. I hope that she will be able to tell her story like you have 20 years later. God Bless.
