She should come to the US (Texas) and get a second opinion. The nausea and bowel problems could possibly be from the tumors pressing on her colon. Personally, I wouldn't waste any time before getting a second opinion. I am stage 4 dx'd in April '04. What kind of treatment is she receiving and why can't she even speak to the doctor??? To me that is a HUGE reg flag.I wish her the best of luck. Try to get her to the states ASAP.

I actually took my son to St. Joseph Medical Center for treatment. He had a brain stem glioma. I personally had done alot of research on some of the treatments Dr. Rogers was giving and feel it has helped alot of cancer patients. I spoke to alot of other people while we were there and they were seeing results. My son unfortunately passed last monthed but we also did not start these specific treatments til he was towards the end. We visited with Dr. Rogers on video conference calls. It was kinda strange but it was because he worked in the US and it would have been hard for him to travel back and forth as often as he would have needed to. Everyone of course has different situations and ours was that we were not offered many options in the US for my sons cancer. We had been to St. Jude and many other places with no success. My suggestion is to get a list of the treatments offered and do the research yourself and weigh the options...

My husband and brother in law are out there now. Brother in law had stage 4 melanoma and husband has inherited lung disease, high blood pressure, and a diabetic. They have been there for 3 wks now and husband is doing much better. Drs told brother in law right of the bat that the cancer would probably return and the only treatment would make him deathly sick- he opted to try this treatment, he has no insurance and this makes it very difficult to get into a hospital, was waiting on admittance to a hospital in Texas to remove lymph nodes in neck and chest. He plans to have the surgery when he returns but they stress to keep up your treatment in the states, this treatment along with other treatment has had good results. Cousin had been to Dr Rogers 5 yrs ago with a tumor at the base of his skull which they could not operate on and he was loosing his hearing. the treatment Dr Rogers gave him shrunk the tumor and the drs he was going to could not believe it and to this day he is fine. I guess this treatment is not for everyone and u cant wait until the last minute and then go hoping for a miracle cure, it takes time and u still need to follow up treament with own drs. Nothing is a sure thing, its all in gods hands, all we can do is hope.

Here is why: from:http://www.iht.com/articles/2005/01/23/news/mexico.php Americans in other border cities have also reported being kidnapped. Dr. Charles Rogers, 57, a Brownsville, Texas, oncologist who ran a cancer clinic in the Mexican city of Matamoros, which is just across the Rio Grande from Brownsville near where it feeds into the Gulf of Mexico, was abducted at his clinic and held hostage at gunpoint for several hours on Dec. 9, until he arranged for his wife to pay an $88,000 ransom. In an interview, Rogers said he had been stopped by three men who identified themselves as Mexican federal police officers. After the ransom was paid, he said, he jumped from a moving vehicle to escape because he was afraid the kidnappers were going to kill him. He left his clinic to Mexican physicians and now consults by videoconferencing."I have not been back since," he said. "I am never going back."

Norma, unfortunately my cousin passed away April 1st. She fought a long battle, but definitely believed in what she was doing. I asked her about a week before she died...."Knowing what you know now, would you have done anything different concerning your treatment?" ...and she said "No". The "conventional" doctors gave her about 3 months to live and she made it a year and 2 months. I love her and miss her. She was a great lady and anyone who was fortunate enough to know her was blessed. Tell your husband to fight and don't give up. You never know when a new procedure or cure is about to occur. My prayers are with you, your husband as you fight this battle. Earline
