Reoccurance of ovca

My was diagnosed w/ OVarian Cancer 3.5 years ago and responded well to treatment. She is having a reoccurance. She is very freaked out and is not sure she will live. Anyone have a good exp surviving a reoccurrance. She was very luckily stage 1 and has been in good health for 3 years. Thanks,Amy in Dallas

I had a reoccurance 1 year out of treatment. I have been in and out of treatment ever since. I feel fine and treatments seem to be doing something good. Tell your mother that recurrance is part of this ugly disease and to try to look at this as a chronic disease, not a fatal one. She was stage I - this is a wonderful thing. If she goes into treatment - she will probably have another remission. Good luck to you both.Diane

Hi again Amy, good thoughts to your MOM. How old is she? How did her dr find the recurrence? Like Diane mentioned, ovca is often treated as a chronic disease.

Her CA125 also went from 167 to 202 in those two weeks.
