sutent dont work.

what other alternatives?.. which one is the most tolerable? torisel? nevaxar?. June 2007 had a kidney removed.. a month later went to ct scan showed some nodules in both lungs.. was taking sutent 37.5mg until yesterday went for ct scan. no improvement and spotted lumps on testicles. my dad giving up.. its sad to see things go wrong. anyone who failed with sutent but were successful with other medication can share some knowledge? at least to stabilize my dad's condition. i love him. i want to spent more time with my family member although im in my mid20's now.

Your father's doctor should offer alternatives. Certainly can try the drugs you mentioned. Also Interleukin-2, Interferon. Numerous clinical trials around the country if he's willing to travel for a consultation. It's easy to get discouraged when you read the dismal statistics on renal cell cancer. But your dad should keep in mind all of those statistics pre-date the newer drugs and longer survivals are much more likely now than even 3 or 4 years ago.Good luck.

Try Torisel or try to get into one of Phase II clinical trials with the experimental drug MET. If you google, C-MET and Forbes magazine, there was a very recent article on 10/24 re: a series of new clinical trials that may eventually be picked up by Glaxo. Good luck.

edit, growth of the cells in the walls of the kidney where it was previously removed causing blocklage to the testical cord that might have caused the testicle to swollen. sorry for the misunderstanding. thanks for the info.. we hope to take torisel too unfortunately.. my country only have sutent, avastin, interleukin2, nexavar no torisel . so dads decision is to try out on nexavar. hopefully we can start the medication asap and get some good results.
