recently diagnosed

I am a 45 year old female, recently diagnosed with MM 3 months ago. My life has been turn completely around. I am now home-bound with a walker and uses a wheelchair if I go somewhere requiring me to walk long distance. My 14 year old son is having a hard time adjusting to this situation. Emotionally, prayer, family and friend are the only thing that give me hope. I had a great job (4 years) and recently brought a new car and home. My worries are the disease, my changes after radiation, chemo and a transplant. I also worry about my financial situation, which is a big concern. I applied for social security and they won't make a decision for another 3 months, until my disease is more stable. Which will be a total of 6 months without assistance. Does anyone know my changes of getting assistance or maybe being able to return to work after my transplant? I was told less than 5% of people my age get the disease. Is there anyone can relate to my situation?
