CancerCompass message board discussion started by brovo on 11/10/2007 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,17851,0.htm Sat, 06 Sep 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sat, 06 Sep 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ 93 year old mother dx this week with cholangiocarcinoma.  Was not able to do ERCP to relieve jaundice.  Same day was able to complete PCT.  Mom still in hospital and now running low grade temp.  Fluid draining well to drainage bag.  My sisters and I have been told that surgery is not an option and comfort measures only can be done( relieve severe itching and jaundice by draining around the tumor.)  They plan on doing brush bx on Mon. but the docs say the results have a 50% chance of being incorrect. Mom refuses chemo or radiation.  What can we expect from here on out?  All they seem to tell us is that the tumor is in a really bad place and not any options. One doc says not much time left.  Another doc says that the tumor isn't fast growing.  Has us confused.  Will be thankful for any advise or answers from others who have gone through same thing.  brovo Sat, 10 Nov 2007 00:00:00 GMT
