Enlarged spleen in lymphoma?

My husband's doctor & Mayo have been unable to diagnose his illness, and now are going to removed his extremely enlarged spleen, telling us that he may have lymphoma. I am confused because I am not seeing this as a symptom of lymphoma anywhere. Is there anyone out there who has lymphoma, that is not affecting any of the other lymph glands except the spleen? Is this possible? They have ruled out T-cell granular lymphocytic leukemia, and the doctor says he doesn't think that Felty's syndrome would cause the spleen to be this enlarged and the white cell count to be down to 800. I'm just wondering if anyone out there has seen this diagnosed as lymphona? Thanks so much for any information. We are just so confused.

RE: Enlarged spleen in lymphoma?

Yes, my husband has Mantle cell lymphoma, diagnosed this past labor day weekend. His enlarged spleen is what took us to the hospital, no other lymph gland was involved at the time. Our white cell counts are huge, multiplying by 15-18,000 daily. We are at Mayo also.Blessings to you as you search.tacamodon

I think you will find this website very informative. It has helped me understand my condition and how to deal with it since my diagnosis in 2004 with marginal zone lymphoma.

Please feel free to contact me if you are interested in the success I have had using only alternative treatments.
Blessings Shemay
