still spotted 5 1/2 weeks after efudex!

I finished 4 weeks of efudex treatment on both legs, arms and chest on Oct. 8. It is now Nov. 15 and I still have spots. My arms and chest have lightened dramatically but enough is left to make me not want to show them. My legs still have lots of red spots left and not lightening as quickly. I had thought that by now there would be no more signs of this and I am getting concerned. My Dr. had told me it would all be gone in a couple of weeks. She has given me a couple of prescription creams (using Mimyx now) to try. Has anyone had this done on these areas and how long was it before the redness was completely gone? Thanks

Hi: You won't find this very comforting, I'm afraid, but I used Efudex for a month on my cheek in 2006 and it was almost a year before the skin returned to its pre-treatment color. I had an extremely strong reaction to it, however, so don't let my experience dishearten you. Continue to use the anti-inflamatory cream -- it will help.

Thank you for your reply. It is disheartening however, since we are leaving for Florida for two months in mid January and my legs and arms are a mess with red spots. I am hoping it will clear up by then. I also had a very strong reaction to the Efudex. Thanks again for responding.
