Adrenal gland - lung - tumor

Hello all, my name is Daniel, i'm a 28 yr old male from Wellington, New Zealand. I have recently been told melanoma has spred into my adrenal gland - i have another tumor in my right abdomin region which i have had for the past 12 months. I had 1 week of radiation to shrink the tumor in my abdomin 12 months ago when it was discovered. No other treatment was or has been offered as i was told i would only be here for about 6 months, and that there is nothing that they can do to help me. I would like information about this if possible from someone who has had or is going through a similar situation, so i can know what to expect.Muchly appreciatedDaniel.

My husband was given six months Nov 06 and he is still here! His also spread to the adrenal, liver, kidney, lungs, odd spots and the brain. We have just begun to talk to Riverside about the Synergy S. This is similiar to the gamma knife for brain lasers and it worked well on his head. His adrenal has grown over the past year and the radiation doc said they have had melanomal patients respond very well to the adrenal. We're in Norfolk, VA - feel free to e-mail me if I can be of assistance.--Message edited by CancerCompass staff.
Hi thanks :) I have just recently learned that there are now also 3 tumors in my brain aswell as the adrenal gland and abdomin tumors. This was discovered at the end of November when i collapsed with seizure and passed out. I had 5 days of radiation to my head which i finished xmas eve. I am on steriods, morphine, and anti-seizure drugs. Can you please tell me what the Synergy S is exactually aswell as the gamma knife as i have not heard of these, are they simular to radiation? Which country is Norfolk, VA please :) Can you please also tell me is your husband expeirencing any seizures or anything from the brain tumors??Thankyou for your response muchly appreciated.Daniel.

Dear Daniel, I mistakenly put my personal e-mail and got edited out. I live in the United States, in Norfolk, VA (mid east coast). The Gamma Ray and Synergy S are similiar to radiation, called radiosurgery. The odds are 90-95%, and so far (it has only been a month) his largest tumor 5 has shrunk to 3. The effects continue for 3-4 months so it should go down again. The Synergy S is supposed to be very similiar, targeting liver/adrenal/spleen. We haven't tried this one yet but may soon.http://www.virtualtrials.com/gamma.cfm I shall check the board more often. I hope this helps. Cheers,Demetria
