Larnyx and Lung Cancer

Hello. My mom is 53, was diagnosed with Larynx cancer and it spread to her lungs. She just completed 10 sessions of radiation. She has to wait 6 weeks for followup to see if the radiation is working. She had a trach put in. She is only having liquids cause it is hard to swallow. She had bad reactions from the radiation. Such as sores and infections in her mouth. It is very difficult to put anything in her mouth. Any suggestions? It has spread to her lungs, but they said that they cant start chemo on her lungs cause it will decrease the effectiveness of the radiation to her larynx. Is this true? She is also enemic now. Any help would be great. thanks. --Message edited by CancerCompass staff. For personal protection, email address removed. Consider private reply.
