Status of long time Sutent intakers

Hey Everyone,

My mom is one her 2 nd cycle of 37.5 but has taken 9 cycles
of 50 mg w/ the tradition of 28 days on and 14 days off. All her tissue tumors are gone but her PET
scan still shows activity on her neck and third right rib. Other wise still
stable.

Just wondering how the rest of you doing those who have been
on Sutent for a long period of time.

Anyone with bone masses ? How has Sutent been for you?

-Cathy

RE: Status of long time Sutent intakers

Hi Cathy, My husband was diagnosed in september with a large tumor on his left kidney. We found it purley by accident (really long story). He has had the kidney and tumor removed and has a few small metatises on his lung. He is currently on his 2nd round of sutent. 4 weeks on 2 weeks off full strength. His first round wasn't so bad a bit of heartburn and fatigue but that was it. 2nd round he still has heartburn (now taking Nexium) and fatigue but his hair has changed colour, from mousey brown to white. He looks quite distinguished. Our oncologist has said he will be on this treatment for life, so he will end up being a long time intaker. Here is hoping it works well. Wont know until the 3rd round and he has some scans.I hope all goes weel in your family. regardsNicki

Actually if Sutent could keep everything in control its not that bad. I rather my mom handle the side effects of Sutent then any other meds I've heard out there. I just have a fear of Sutent not working anymore which does happen with some patients. Anyways, we just need our hopes held up high and the paryers going. God Bless,Cathy
