Please Help...tongue Cancer Question

I have a growth of tissue on the left side of my tounge. It is located at the back of my tounge. It is not painful and is the same color of my tongue.
It is like a flap of skin that I can wiggle back and forth. It is not round, but flat and extends out.

Does this description sound like a cancerous growth?

Tongue Cancer/ Dino

Could you have eaten something sharp or crusty, that could have cut it? I would go to your dentist. Either the DDS of hygenist could tell you for sure. Most DDS would be happy to give a quick peak free of charge.

Sore on Side of Tongue

Dear Dinod, I wrote a message on here about a month ago, I had a large sore on the right side of my tongue towards the back, and I thought it might be cancer, I was really afraid to go to the dr. or dentist, it was there for over a year, how stupid can a person be, not to go to the dr. that was me. I never have smoked or drank alcohol, I finally went to see the ear, nose and throat dr. He asked me if I ever bite my tongue, I have several times and never thought anything of it, he said maybe that's what happened, and told me I needed to have a molar pulled that was just over the sore, and then he would cut the sore out and have a biopsy, this would be done in the hospital. I went to the dentist, he x-rayed the tooth, it was abscessed, he thought that was the problem, he pulled the tooth, one week after the tooth was pulled the sore is almost gone, I can't believe it, all that worry for nothing, just because of the fear of going to the dr. The tooth was causing the sore to be infected and rubbing on it all the time. Please go to the dr, or dentist as soon as you can, you will be so relieved, I pray yours will turn out as great as my results, I hope this has helped you.

Sincerely, Kathy
