information on follow up visits

This is my first time on something like this. My husband was digonsed with hodgkins stage 3b nov of 06. At first they thought it was just in the neck and would only do 3 cycle of treatment. after the scans they told us the mass in the neck was about 6cm, 12cm mass in stermun, in the diaphragm and spots in the spleen. after 6mths of abvd and 30 rad. session in july he was told he was in remission x. the doctor said x because the mass in his chest is still 7cm but no active lymph nodes? he had one pet scan at the end of august and they said everything looked like the last scan. but i am worried we are going for his 4mth check up and all they ordered was a chest x-ray. will that show anything if he had radition there? they did blood work too but that did not show anything first time round either. the reason i am worried is because in early october he start with the cough again( main symptom from before) and now his lower legs, feet and arms are itching like crazy (i read this can be symptom as well). as well he is back at the same weight he was when digonsed.should i be worried? could the cancer becoming back? will a chest x-ray show anything? i love him dearly.his family and i were quite upset at first because he had all the symptoms for about a year before he finally went to see a doctor and i see him brushing all the same signs off again.any comments would help. thanks for reading(sorry for spelling errors)

RE: information on follow up visits

Hi! You know, I have been Hodgkin's Free for over 10 years now and every time I get a cold or a flu and my lymph nodes become swollen I begin to worry. It is only natural. I see that this post was from quite a few months ago so I suppose by now you know the outcome of the symptoms you were worrying about. The only thing I can say to you is that the mind is a tricky thing. It has the ability to play tricks on you. When I was doing my follow ups for years after, every time I had to go in my mind would tell me that I found another lymph node, because for me that was my symptom... for your husband, coughing was his symptom. Try not to worry, I know everyone tells you that, but it is true. Stay busy and stay positive. Even if it came back (which is probably did not) this disease is treatable and even more importantly it is beatable! Good Luck!
