RCC - Sutent - AHCC

Hello all,My Dad was recently diagnosed with stage 4 RCC with mets in lungs and lymph nodes. He is 69 yrs old and physically very active and healthy till couple of months back when he started to have breathng problems due to fluids in his lungs. The docs have put a tube thru his chest to remove the fluid. The docs have suggested Sutent, but don't seem to be in any hurry to start it. Sutent is extremely expensive here in India. They have told me that it might just extend his life by a few more months. Right now they are waiting for all fluids to be removed, they then want to do MRI/brain scan/bone scan before starting sutent. This might take another week or so. I am concerned that it might spread more and get to his bones if it has not already. I am hoping it has not since my Dad has no bone pain. I want them to start it as soon as possible, I am wondering if I should insist that he be started on Sutent and the scans and other tests can be done later. maybe after the first cycle. I will be grateful for any suggestions. Also, I am giving my Dad AHCC supplement, has anyone experienced any issues with using both AHCC and Sutent together? Thanks a lot.
