taxol with Neulast

My dr. had changed what I was going to be on before I started chemo. I am on Taxol and next day Neulasta. I am ending the foirst week and I must say it has been a trial. First day I was tired. The first night I couldn`t sleep(steriods in pre-chemo along with benedryl) Head ,chest and arms itched like crazy. In the morning I woke up and felt like I had a fever. Upon going to the bathroom, looked ion the mirror my face and chest were like I got a bad sumburn. This they say is normal with steriods. Then I had to go back for a shot of Neaulasta. That went fine, Went home that day and felt good and hyper--oh those steriods, they really do that. Got sleeping pills and pain pills from the Dr. Well that night I hurt so bad ,my legs and knees and ankles and feet. I was in tears. All I could do was use a heaing pad and the pain pills. The pain continmues in my legs and back and feet. Use the sleeping pills and pain pills and ibprophen. I go thru this again in aniother week. Does anyone have the same chemo. or know if this will get worse befor it gets better. This was my first treatment.

In response to your entry my father has just finished up 6 treatments of taxol with the drug apomab along with other chemo. He was in stage 4 non small cell adenocarcenoma lung cancer. So it is bad. my suggestion to you would be if you keep hurting badly (my father did also hurt very bad) is to maybe talk to your doctor about reducing dosage. Thats what my dad had to do, but he didn't do it fast enough I think. He is now having very bad sores come up on feet, because it does something to nerve endings in hands and feet.On 12/23/2007 gramdma55 wrote:My dr. had changed what I was going to be on before I started chemo. I am on Taxol and next day Neulasta.
