Because this cancer behaves similarly to small-cell cancer of the lung, researchers have been studying treating SC bladder cancer like SC lung cancer.  Recently, researchers found that persons with locally advanced  disease responded favorably to a combination of intensive chemotherapy and radiation therapy. I've never heard about small cell bladder cancer, but my wife has been battling metastatic transitional cell cancer (in her lungs), and the oncologist says that it's acting strangely for TCC. I did not have the small cell but it was stage 2. I doing great a week later. But I had it done roboticly it much easier on the body.
