Dear Julie, Have you had the ILP yet? How did it turn out? I am told that would be a good treatment for me but a newer and much less invasive version is the Isolated Limb Infusion ( ILI ). Unfortunately it is only done in NY or Texas in the US and I live on the west coast so my Doc. is starting me on Aldara 5% cream for the multiple lesion on my leg. I hope your treatment went well.
Julie, Happy to hear your ILP went well and hope the Melanoma responds as well. How long were you in the hospital? Are you under 60 years old? The ILI is the procedure done in New York and Texas. I am starting treatment today with the ALDARA 5% cream while I am waiting for ILI to be available in California. Wishing you a speedy recovery. Ellen

Hi Julie- How are you getting along after your ILP? I am going to NY in Sept. for a consultation for the ILI with Dr. Brady at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center. It is not done on the west coast so it is a big undertaking for me. Hope the ILP worked for you. Ellen

Ellen,I am doing well. It's been just over 2 months since my ILP surgery. I'm going to physical therapy to regain strength and range of motion in my leg, but I'm walking and driving. Some swelling, but not too bad. Best of all, a recent PET scan showed that the main tumor in my leg has disappeared, so hopefully all the microscopic cancer cells are gone too. I hope your appointment in NY goes well and you find the right solution. Best of luck. Julie
