Pain triggered by cough

Hi, my mum has stage iv stomach cancer & the tumor has invaded half of her stomach (from the last CT scan). My dilemma is that she has starting coughing really bad which leads to vomiting thus severe pain in the end. She been given cough syrup & antibiotic but it doesnt seem to be helping. What makes the matter worst is that the cough is worst at night, making it hard for her to sleep. If she cough to hard, she vomits. And when she vomits too much, pain comes. She has been enduring this unnecessary triggered pain for the past few days & she started to became scared when night comes.Any recommendation anyone?
