CancerCompass message board discussion started by hayk56 on 1/3/2008 http://www.cancercompass.com/message-board/message/all,19341,0.htm Wed, 23 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT Wed, 23 Jul 2008 00:00:00 GMT http://backend.userland.com/rss RSS.NET: http://www.rssdotnet.com/ My father 56 years old  has stomach cancer from nov 15.07, He was under cemo for a year  5F4, cisplatinum, taxotere, epuribicin.he was treted in Russia , they just moved and staying with me , His doctor in Russia never told us that he can have a surgere , every time when h e was switched from one chemo combination to another one  it helped for him only for 3 ar 4 months , and every 3 month she is having fluid again.then he is ok for another 3 month with a new chimo combination .I have no Idea what to do  is there is anyone out there im area of NJ or NY that can give an idea about the hospitals  or there experience , Please   hayk56 Thu, 03 Jan 2008 00:00:00 GMT My father just got done with his treatments of 5FU, Cisplatinum, and Taxotere.  He was treated at JFK Hospital in NJ.  So far he is clean, no cancer...however he had surgery to remove most of it. Steeda Thu, 03 Jan 2008 00:00:00 GMT Dear Steeda, thank you for your reply, I am very happy for you and your family, its very nice to hear good stories, I hope he will be clean for very long time ,I am trying to take him to Sloan cancer hospital in NY , but also i want to go for second oppinion , do you have any idea where to go? hayk56 Thu, 03 Jan 2008 00:00:00 GMT Sloan is pretty much the best...however they're very against surgery.  Surgery is pretty much what helped my dad the most IMHO.  Definitely go for a second opinion.  I would suggest the cancer institute at Robert Wood Johnson in New Brunswick NJ.
