Can Gallbladder removal take away the cancer?

Hi, i have recently had my gallbladder removed which was a great success i think!.I returned to the hospital to see my consultant and was told my gallbladder contained cancerous cells but they have been successfully removed with my gallbladder. As soon as i heard this i think i blanked it out instead of asking questions. Still quite shocked to tell you the truth.I have been told i will need a check up in twelve months.A little knowledge is a dangerous thing to an over active mind and i am now terrified. I have done some research on the internet and from what i have found it seems gallbladder cancer is almost always terminal. Is it possible to remove it fully by taking the gallbladder away? Am i worrying over nothing?I apologise for my poor spelling and also if this is not the right place to post this message, funnily enougth i feel a bit calmer for writing this down. Thanks in advance for any advice.
Jim,It sounds like youa re one of the lucky few that actually can actually detect this kind of terrible cancer before it starts.er. If the cells are not anywhere else than you should never have a worry. Usually it grows and spreads without anyone knowing. HAving your Gallbladder removed was the best thing you could have done but have them check other organs and lymphnodes etc.

Thanks for the reply Smlev. I phoned the hospital today to see if i could speak to my consultant. Unfortunately he is now on holiday.I could have seen someone else but would rather wait and see someone i know.It did not seem like it at the time but maybe the gallstones and the pain that went with it was a blessing in disguise. Before they took the gallbladder out i had x-rays, ultra sound and a cat scan, so i am hoping that the proof i need is in those but i will be asking for more checks for peace of mind. Best wishes Jim xx

Jim,It does sound like you will be one of the lucky ones. My Mom's had spread to liver and lymph nodes before it was found and she was in stage 4 so there was no hope. But for you, it sounds like it was contained.Take care of yourself and look into things like foot ionizer baths, liver detox fasting..so you can keep your body toxic free and healthy. i would be glad to share what I have learned if you want.Good luck and God bless, Eileen

Hello Eileen, sorry to hear about your mum. Its no comfort to those left behind but i am a firm believer that you go to a better place when your time is up.Its funny how every ache and pain i have now sets me worrying and i guess until i can get checked, my mind will be in overdrive.I am probably turning into a classic hypochondriac.I have never heard of foot ionizer baths or liver detox fasting but any advice you would be kind enougth to share would be gratefully recieved. Thanks for replying Jim xx

I received a letter from the hospital this morning Saturday 19 jan 08.I am being admitted for further surgery on the 10th feb 08.I have no details why. letter is very short and says my consultant has arranged for my admission at the earliest available time.I still have not managed to speak to him so i am now left in a state of panic till monday at the earliest. I guess the x-rays and cat scan have shown something thats not right.Jim xx
