My Mom

Hello Everyone, I wrote a while back about my mom...we found out about the cancer in July, at Christmas we had to take her to the hospital at one point they told us the tumor had shrunk, She was spitting up all the time cause her esphageaus was closed off completely, They have been taking her down everyday to try to stretch it, wednesday they opened it to the size of a small nail, thursday they opened it to the size of a pencil, Friday they went back in and it closed off completely and they found two more tumors, She has had two blood transfusions, they have put kemo off again, they will be goind down on Monday with the scope again and maybe try to put in a stent, but they doctor said there is a possiblity that they won't be able to or she can reject it....Her poor throat must be so sore. All I can say is I love her, before I start to cry..

I'm so sorry to hear about your mom. This must be so difficult and painful for her. And so many things they are trying to do to get her esophagus open. Has she had chemo or radiation? If not, is she not healthy enough to have it? Does she have a feeding tube? My father-in-law has EC stage II but he couldn't have surgery due to him being elderly, so he had chemo and radiation and his tumor shrunk. He is eating fine now, but had such difficulty at first. I will pray for your mom that the doctors will be able to get her esophagus open and that they would be able to treat the additional tumors they found. Blessings and comfort to you and your mom.Joanne
