Dog not drinking

A little background: Muffie, my 12 y.o. silky terrior was diagnosed with TCC a little over a month ago. She also had multiple fibroids in her small bowel and had a fairly extensive surgery to remove them. Since she has come home she refuses to drink. She is eating fine. She is on canned food now because of her bowel surgery and I know that is moslty water, but why won't she drink???? I've had to give her fluids with a syringe everyday. Has anyone seen this? My vet has no answers. She says just keep syringing them to her and we can do subcutaneous fluids if we need to. It just doesn't make sense. She is doing well otherwise. Doesn't act like she is in pain. No urinary dfficulties at this time. Loves to go on walks, etc. Just curious if anyone else has experienced this!! thanks!

My Forrest did the same thing for a few days, he has always been a massive water drinker, so I was concerned. Mixed orange Gatorade in with the water and that did the trick for him. However, Sprite did not work at all. Hope this helps. Karen

I've tried gatorade and broth-neither worked :( It's been over a month now and I am still having to syringe her water. She hates it too. I am gonna try some popsicles and see if she do those. I think that she knows if she drinks more she'll have to urinate more. Thanks for your replies!!
