      <title>cancer</title>
      <description>hi.&amp;nbsp; my husband is undergoing chemo for prostate cancer, very rare type.&amp;nbsp; our insurance only pays so much.&amp;nbsp; he was going to the v.a. hospt. where his medicare cannot be used.&amp;nbsp; we are thinking of changing to another hospt. where med. and bc/bs can be used together.&amp;nbsp; but how do we pay the existing bill?&amp;nbsp; it is so high and we do not have the money.&amp;nbsp; we cannot borrow it.&amp;nbsp; what do people do in cases like this.&amp;nbsp; he is getting ready for a lupron&amp;nbsp; transplat in his arm and that will cost a bundle.&amp;nbsp; any help would be appreciated.&amp;nbsp; thanks. ml</description>

      <description>I would go to the financial office at the hospital and try to apply for financial hardship. Some hospitals offer this. Speak with a Social Worker and get her to help you. Also try CancerCare, there phone # is 1-800-813-4673.&amp;nbsp; Speak with a social worker at the hospital about charity care or indigent care programs. The National Cancer Institure Cancer Information Service can direct you to local programs as well. Call 1-800-4CANCER.
