Finding the humor in the worst of situations....

My dad who, as I recently mentioned in a recent e-mail, was diagnosed w/ stage IV stomach cancer and started vomiting and having uncontrollable diarrhea and he went into the ER this past Sat., per his doc's advise. My mom took him there and he was waiting forever on one of the gurneys. After a couple hours my mom finally spoke up and asked what we were waiting for and they told her that the room in the back was ready but they just couldn't find a transporter to wheel him to the back. My mom was so fed up she decided to wheel my dad back there herself! Someone finally asked my mom what she was doing and she told them that since there was no transport person that she would move her husband to the back of the ER herself. That person then told her that she was in the wrong unit and ended up taking her and my dad back to the ER. Needless to say they were able to get over to the room without waiting any longer......my mom told me this story on the phone and we just both started laughing.....it was pretty funny, especially since my mom is pretty quiet and conservative and would not normally do something like this on her own. But good for her for getting my dad in a room so that he could be treated...lol. Anyway, on a serious note, my dad is still in the hospital because they found out that he needed a platelet and blood transfusion and also found out that he has a blood clot in his leg so they had to send him to get a filter so that it wouldn't move to his lung. Oh brother....what next. Anyway, my dad had a CT scan and we're just waiting to hear from the doc to see what is going on.....but at least my mom and I can find a little humor in all of this madness.....
