To find more answers I would recommend contacting Mayo clinic or Johns Hopkins. They have the best oncologists and treatments and even clinical trials that may not be available through your oncologist. I know nothing about cancer so cannot help you there. Just found this site last night after learning that my sister has been diagnosed with Bile Duct Cancer-very rare-I am told. So I, too, am seeking as much information possible to aid in her upcoming treatment, etc.The best to you and your mom. I have decided to add all of the folks with cancer, that I read about on this message board, to my prayers as I continue to uphold my sister in prayer. At this time, she feels peaceful and for that I am ever greatful. From psalms 46 "God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble." You are such a good advocate for your mother, and I am sure she is proud of you. Now, take care of yourself and you will give your mom the confidence that she needs, to feel you are going to be okay, now and in the future whatever the outcome.Believe in Miracles, eaglessoar

You mentioned that you knew of some stageIV stomach cancer survivors, can you share what you know and how long they have survived? My 26 year old daughter was diagnosed with stage IV in October of 2006, she has refused surgery so far and her doctors have not encouraged surgery and has chosen to fight with chemo only..she is on her 11th round of IV chemo this week.
